Many people are experiencing more vivid dreams lately, so I am republishing an old 2011 article of mine from ezinearticles on how to interpret your dreams. I am aware that humanity is going through an intense period of awakening, and one of the ways that Spirit speaks to you and guides you through this awakening is through your dreams.

My last blog post focused on remembering your dreams. You might want to read that post first, and follow the tips in it. Once you are able to remember your dreams, you will want to interpret them, and understand them better. So, what are the keys to understanding your dreams?

The main key to understanding your dreams involves strengthening the relationship you have with your higher self and cultivating a deeper, clearer, and more real relationship with that inner part of you. If you are like most people, you probably paid little attention to your “higher self” as you learned to fit in and play your role in society. (No worries about that though; there is a point to everyone playing their role, which we will learn in due time.)

But now, at this time of the Great Awakening, becoming more conscious of your higher self and confident in that inner connection is the key. This inner connection will become super valuable and important, especially when you see societal systems collapsing around you, and you see that you can no longer rely on them. Let’s put it this way: the time ahead will be A LOT easier for you if you are confident in your connection with your higher self (your direct connection to God) and experience regular confirmation of that connection.

Anyway, back to interpreting our dreams. I have previously shared that before I reconnected to my higher self, I was not good at remembering my dreams and had a hard time interpreting them. (I would remember, maybe, only the last parts of my dreams.) But after I became more connected to my higher self, my dreams became clearer and more vivid. Also, I could remember details about them that I considered relevant to what was happening in my life at the time.

The following is an example of a dream I had in 2005. I include this dream here because it has some significance to the time of awakening that we are going through right now. The following dream is an excerpt from my spiritual awakening memoir:

“At the end of January 2005, I awakened from a dream where I was scrambling across a craggy landscape that looked like the aftermath of a mountain explosion. Large boulders and slabs lay all around me in disarray, as though they had fallen from the sky. Crevices wide enough to fall through stymied your path; you had to watch your every move. I was stepping through the wreckage, hopping from boulder to boulder, headed towards a city that looked like ancient Rome. When I entered the city through the front gates, I saw lions living among the people. Lions loitered in the courtyards, on the piazzas and the verandas. The people hummed about the city guardedly—quite understandable, given that you could never be sure what a lion might do. I too walked around feeling guarded, and slipped away to a safe place while still going about my normal business. I was with a Hispanic woman. She had been stopped for questioning at one of the city’s checkpoints—a common thing. And as I was waiting for her, I awakened from my dream.

“After I recorded this dream into my journal, it occurred to me that the people had learned to live with the lions; the two had coexisted. And perhaps after a few generations, it became the only way they knew how to live. They had learned how to walk, what to do, what to feed the lions. They went about their daily business taking certain precautions and thus, were relatively safe. And then, the lions did not seem so much like lions anymore. They mostly lazed around, swishing their tails.”—End of excerpt.

Back in 2005, when I awakened from this dream, I interpreted it to mean that I had a decent handle on things, and that I was supposed to keep going with my mission while “coexisting” with my fears. Later, I saw an additional meaning in this dream: that I have learned my lessons and have learned to coexist with my biggest fears to the point where they no longer blocked me from doing what I was here to do. My fears have been transformed. In fact, what I discovered is that my biggest fears turned out to be the catalysts that helped me discover my unique contribution toward this important time in humanity’s history.

Your spiritual awakening (strengthening your connection with your higher self, your connection with God / the Universe) is an important step in your journey. It is why you are here, on this Earth, at this time. And even though the events we will go through will be extremely challenging, if your connection with your higher self is strong, your fears will not have the same hold they had on you in the past. (Yes, I do believe that world events will get rockier before they get better.)

To summarize, one of the ways that Spirit speaks to you and guides you in your life is through your dreams. This is why it’s worth the effort to remember your dreams, to try to understand them, and to strengthen your relationship with your higher self.

Last month, I had a dream where I popped into a bright, white meeting room where a few other people were assembled around a large conference room table. But as soon as I was noticed by the others, I got the feeling they were thinking, what in the world are you doing here? So I made myself wake up, to get away. Strange, too, is that this dream happened at the beginning of the night, soon after I fell asleep, rather than in the morning when most of my dreams usually occurred. It felt so real, it has a lasting impression on me, still to this day.

My intuition says I popped into a room where what’s happening on this planet, and what’s next, was being discussed. But clearly, they didn’t want me there to listen in. At least not yet.

I’m curious if anyone else had a similar experience, or if you have any insight on this. If so, please leave a comment below!

Anyway, this dream inspired me to update an article on remembering your dreams that I wrote back in March 2011 …

Back then, a reader had emailed, asking what he should do so he could remember his dreams. “Can you give me some insight into dreaming? I do not and cannot remember my dreams. I was told this is not normal. Why can’t I remember my dreams?” he asked.

I understand his frustration. Earlier in my life, I usually wouldn’t remember my dreams, either. And when I did remember a dream, usually it was only the last part of it. And even then, I wouldn’t notice the details that other people claimed to be able to notice—details like color, for instance.

But then, as I began to reconnect to my higher self, I began to pay more attention to my inner feelings, and this is what helped develop my capacity to remember my dreams. (Connecting to your higher self develops you in a number of ways. Remembering your dreams is one of them.)

Besides reconnecting to your higher self (which I will not discuss in this post, as I’ve already written on this topic extensively on this blog and in my two books), I recommend the following tips for remembering your dreams.

5 Tips for Remembering Your Dreams

  1. Anticipate that you will have dreams and that you will remember them. To this end, get yourself a notebook specifically for your personal growth: your new insights and dreams. Keep this notebook by your bedside, along with a pencil or pen and be ready to write in it when you wake up with a dream, even if you only remember a few things.
  2. As you retire for the night, ask your higher self for guidance while you sleep. (Do this nightly.) Ask your higher self a question about a problem you are dealing with, or about something bothering you at the moment. For example, “How do I solve that thermodynamics homework problem? Give me some insight into setting up the solution.” Then relax and fall asleep, knowing that your higher self is working on the solution while you sleep.
  3. When you awaken in the middle of the night with a new or helpful insight, put the light on and write it down in your notebook. Do not miss the opportunity to develop the capacity to make new neural connections and capture new insights. More often than not, you will not remember the new insight in the morning. Write it down, promptly.
  4. When you are dreaming and you begin to notice that you’re dreaming, it usually signals that you will soon awaken from your dream. Do not try to awaken; don’t even move. Just go over what happened in your dream, over and over again, until you find yourself fully awake.
  5. Then, while still in bed, pick up your dream journal and write in as many details about your dream that you can remember. Do not put off writing in your dream journal until later in the day. Do it right away!

Regarding tip number 1 above: intention and anticipation may seem to be the same, but I came to experience that anticipation had more power in it than intention. For example, years ago, rather than intending that I receive guidance from my higher self, I anticipated it—I paid attention and looked out for it and then I followed through when I received the guidance. When describing what works to get the “ball rolling,” anticipation is more accurate than intention. Anyway, would Carly Simon have written a song called Intention? I seriously doubt it.

Reconnecting to your higher self and following the tips above will help you develop your capacity to not only remember your dreams, but to experience dreams that are more meaningful to you, dreams that guide you to solve a particular problem or to advance you in some area of your life. Because the truth is, your dreams are one way your higher self (and your spirit guides) use to guide you on your life path, to give you insight.

Now for Some Important Guidance

Are you actively involved in the awakening that is happening all over the planet? If not, it is time to step up! As I have said numerous times before, everyone has a role in this fight, including you. If you don’t have a role yet, and are looking to be useful, I would recommend Tore Says on Telegram (app on your phone, and her most active channel). Tore Says is also on Facebook and Twitch. Some of her videos show up on YouTube, too.

I consider Tore to be most knowledgeable of what’s going on in the U.S. government today, and world, for that matter. That’s because she worked with some top officials and wrote some of the scripts being played out today. Here’s a link to see her various channels:

https://toresaid.com/torecontent.cshtml

I’ve written before that we must fight, in our local areas, using the laws that are currently in place. Tore has an army of people writing letters, filing Writs of Mandamus in their local states, attending local school board meetings, getting together and getting stuff done. Connect with this army on Telegram, including the local state groups. It is making a difference.

I have also impressed upon you that now’s the perfect time for you to be a hero. You are being given a chance, a once in a many-lifetimes opportunity to give it your all. We are all on a hero’s journey. Please step up not only for your family and fellow man, but for YOU.

If 2020 hasn’t been crazy enough for you, events in 2021 have escalated to a whole new level. This is why it’s high time to strengthen your connection with God, trust yourself in that connection, and awaken to the bigger picture, the Great Awakening.

The last few weeks, the world seems to be spiraling more and more out of control. For example, are you aware that the Italian government has just collapsed? Are you aware that Italy and NATO were involved in rigging elections in the U.S.? Have you heard that Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel has stepped down? Are members of the Dutch government resigning? Has Estonia’s prime minister already resigned? Is Putin rewriting Russia’s Constitution? Did Pope Francis and former Pope Benedict receive the C0r0navirus vaccine? And I wonder: Will it be announced in the near future that both popes have passed away, not long after the vaccine was administered?

I caught the news about the popes getting the C0VID vaccine from a local California TV news network at a friend’s house a couple of nights ago. My friend happened to be surfing the channels, searching for a game show to watch as the news headline about the two popes spread across the screen. (I’ve avoided watching the TV news, particularly lately, but managed to catch that gem.)

Is the news getting to be too much lately? Is it enough to make your head spin? Well, I’m writing this blog post to share that when you don’t know whom to trust or what to believe, that’s your cue to go within, pray, and strengthen the connection you have with God. So that you can connect with the truth within, awaken to the bigger picture, to your inner power, and to your role at this time in the Divine Plan.

I have a bit of an advantage at this time in this “Great Awakening” as I’ve gone through a spiritual awakening more than 13 years ago and have written two books on that subject. My first book is a personal account, a memoir of my awakening experience, and the second one is a how-to book. It explains in plain, simple language how to strengthen the connection with your soul, your “higher self,” which is your direct connection with God, with the Christ within, with Christ consciousness. My second book shares what I’ve learned from my awakening experience, and how I began to “innerstand,” to see things differently, ever since.

You see, my world began to spiral out of control soon after the dawn of the new millennium, the year 2000. I sought answers to my crises and discovered that ultimately, the answers would need to come from within myself. Feeling that there was nothing or no one that could help me, I knew that I needed to help myself, by finding the truth within.

It was a lonely path, with years of loneliness and unease. My path was being shown by my inner connection and occasionally (about three times a year for about seven years), I would receive a channeled message over the phone from the Counsel of Light that helped me connect more deeply and gain more confidence in that inner connection.

The channeled messages helped strengthen that inner connection. I was given a “heart and soul” meditation to practice, and learned to follow my inner guidance. In fact, in the beginning, when I didn’t have a lot of confidence in that inner connection, my higher self “activated” my heart before receiving an important insight. The “preview” feeling of upliftment helped me pay attention to the guidance that soon followed.

Over the years, I discovered that when I paid at least as much attention to my inner guidance as I did to the outside world, that was when “critical mass” occurred. That’s when I began to “spiral upwards,” awaken spiritually and receive favorable synchronicities and blessings from “the Universe” as positive reinforcement, as well as confirmation that I was on the right path. You may call this path the hero’s journey. The hero’s journey is how we discover our contribution to the Golden Age, and how we build a new world.

I’ve written over 150 articles and blog posts on spiritual awakening (many of which you can find on this blog). I’ve worked hard to share my message, but haven’t reached many people. Hopefully, my work can now provide comfort to many more people during this time of turmoil.

Remember that the truth is within you, and God is within you. Yes, there will be heroes and heroines in the world, but even if you have no idea what’s going on right now you are not just a victim. You are here for a reason. You helped plan this human journey way back when, which means the answers to its fulfillment are within you. You can help yourself and help others. Rise up now and help the world.

Humanity is winning, it's the Divine Plan.

Back in 2000/2001, my life was increasingly in crisis. In fact, I had the distinct feeling that I was being set up, that the people around me, including my husband, were setting me up. Crazy things were happening: people were encouraging me to write a book (though I was not a writer and didn’t know what I was supposed to write about), my husband acting strange and distant, another man trying to get my attention, and a terrible, sinking feeling at the pit of my stomach that I was in deep, deep trouble.

Furthermore, I had the inner knowing that no one or nothing outside of myself could help me or heal me. I knew only I could save myself. I needed to do the inner work (of reconnecting with my soul, my higher self) and get to the bottom of it.

To make a long story short, I did get to the bottom of things and here’s what I’ve discovered. We go through crises in order to discover through first-hand experience who we really are and what we’re truly capable of. (Crises have a way of bringing out the best in humanity.) We also go through crises so that we can become more:

  • Loving
  • Compassionate
  • Understanding
  • Real
  • Joyful

The following is an excerpt from the first article I published (August 3, 2008), after I published my book, What Everyone Believed: a memoir of intuition and awakening. (The Kindle title is Reconnected: a spiritual awakening memoir.)

The article explains the Divine Plan, why it’s so important that you reconnect with your soul (higher self) right now, follow your inner guidance, and stop watching all the mainstream news, which will only make you crazier.

If you knew that your soul / higher self (your connection to the Divine, to God) had planned your life experiences so that you would grow, so that you would come to know yourself as “one who rose to the challenge,” would that give you some comfort at this time? And, because your higher self had planned everything in your life, including your biggest challenges, it has the capacity to complete those challenges successfully. All you have to do is to reconnect with your higher self, develop a stronger relationship with it, so that you can hear its guidance (your intuition) and trust it enough to follow through promptly and consistently.

As you begin to do this, you will glimpse into your soul’s original plan. Your life will begin to make more sense to you, and you will begin to understand how it fits into the larger “Earth game,” or Divine Plan.

On a collective level, if we knew that each of us had a role in planning this Earth game, and if we remembered why we agreed to “play the game” in the first place, we would view the world’s crises as opportunities rather than dreadful things to be avoided. We would know that we had the power within to complete our challenges successfully.

From my own experience of “trying to get to the bottom of things,” I came to understand that we created this Earth game a long, long time ago, and with good intentions, too: so that our souls would learn and grow. As new souls, we yearned to discover who we really were, and the best way to know ourselves was through firsthand experience. For variety, we created variety on the earth, including a variety of belief systems. Things got interesting when some of us agreed to be the “good” guys, and some the “bad.” Sometimes we reversed roles so we would know what it was like on the other side. We did all this for each other, knowing that this Earth Experiment would be instrumental in helping us evolve as quickly as possible. Although we knew that some of our experiences would be extremely difficult, we knew this was the quickest way to spiritual growth. We also knew this time in “duality” would be temporary. At some point, while we were in the process of learning our final lessons (like right now), we would remember that this was “just” a game we had once created. We would be able to complete the game successfully, and create a new, more loving world, a “Golden Age.”

Now, we won’t remember planning this game, this “fall in consciousness” (in the sense that we have conscious memories of it). In order to have been able to play the game correctly, we needed to forget that we had planned it. Forgetting was required for playing the game “for real.”

Buying into the belief systems that each of us bought into was also required. If we had known that we had made those up, we might not have played this game with complete conviction, which would have derailed the learning experiences our souls really wanted. But our souls are powerful, so powerful that we have created an illusion—and then lived it as if it were real—in order to accomplish larger, much more noble goals for ourselves.

In facing my own life challenges, I came to understand that each and every person on this planet had agreed to play the game of duality. (You can call this game “dark versus light,” or “learning through contrast,” if you wish.) If your higher self hadn’t agreed to play this Earth game, you simply wouldn’t be here at this time. Furthermore, you have a unique life purpose, an individual contribution that will help fulfill the game. “Fulfilling your soul’s purpose” is another way of saying, “rising to the challenge.” That’s when can you consider yourself “awakening from the dream.”

Which means that humanity did not actually “fall from grace” as we were led to believe, but intentionally planned this “falling” as if it were real … so that we would be able to learn, grow, and experience ourselves rising back up again. This implies that you are much more powerful, and good, than you may know yourself to be. Realizing the extent of your power helps you take effective action, but you may not know yourself as powerful unless you experience yourself being powerful, which means beginning to resolve your current life challenges. You resolving your challenges then helps resolve the crises on this planet.

Rising to the challenge takes something, of course. A commitment to develop a relationship with your higher self is required. Courage is also required, because your wisdom and inner guidance will, most likely, go against the collective conditioning.

Once the relationship with your higher self is at least as important and as real to you as any of your other relationships, once you trust it enough to follow through on its guidance promptly and consistently, you experience what I have termed “critical mass.” This is the point when the Universe begins to cooperate like never before, because you are now “aligned with” the Divine Plan. This is also when you begin to discover your hidden gifts, by tapping into that part of you that’s been around forever—your soul.

Each of us has our own contributions based on our individual gifts and talents. Human beings have both a common purpose (to learn, to grow, to be more loving, etc.), as well as a specific purpose based on individual identity.

So, while you don’t need to feel like you’re attempting the impossible, you do need to make a commitment and get serious about your soul’s purpose. Because that’s when the Universe will support you; that’s when you’ll receive what you need in order to fulfill your purpose. The Universe will respond to your questions, favorable synchronicities will occur regularly, and you’ll know without a doubt that you’re on the right path.

The world is the way it is, and circumstances are the way they are, so that we can discover who we are, including who we are when times get tough. You have the capacity to fulfill your deepest dreams by following your inner guidance and expressing from your soul.

We can’t fail if we follow this guidance. If we can begin to see from the soul’s perspective, if we can view this time as an opportunity, we can be vehicles for truth and freedom; we can triumph. The power of your soul, expressed through your psyche and body, is what will turn this planet around, and nothing else. This is the truth about spiritual awakening.

My sister’s friend asked about yoga helping connect her with her higher self. This article explores how effective taking a yoga class is for strengthening your connection with your higher self and developing your intuition.

You may want to reconnect with and strengthen the relationship you have with your higher self so that it becomes more evident and real to you. Your meditation practice should help you with this goal. However, as with most things in life, some meditations are more effective than others. If your relationship with your higher self isn’t where you want it to be and you want to know what kind of meditation is effective for accessing your higher self and developing your intuition, read on …

Let’s begin with the basics first. To strengthen your relationship with your higher self, it’s not how you sit or how you breathe that’s all that important. And it’s not whether you have the “right” mantra. What’s important is whether your meditation helps you connect to that “higher self” part of you as directly as possible and whether you then hear and allow that sacred part of you to guide you daily in your life.

I’ll explain what I mean by “as directly as possible.” But first, I’ve found that for the fastest, easiest and best results in any area of life-doesn’t matter whether you’re baking a cake or grouting your kitchen tiles or connecting with your higher self-it helps to follow a good “recipe.” You’ll get better results when you accurately follow a proven mixing ratio (recipe), rather than just being “in the ball park.” The cake will come out light and tasty and the grout will have maximum strength and performance if you follow a good recipe. This also holds true for connecting with your higher self.

A Meditation … From the Counsel of Light

Over 14 years ago, the Counsel of Light gave me a meditation they said was a “shot in the arm” for connecting with my higher self. (Channeled for me by Flo Aeveia Magdalena of Soul Support Systems.) In this meditation, they had me place my left hand on my heart and my right hand on my “soul seed.” They called this area my “sacred space.”

They said the heart in my meditation symbolized my current life and the soul seed symbolized my infinite life (my higher self, soul, which never dies). During the meditation they had me imagine that I was doing a figure 8 (the infinity sign) around my hands. In essence, the meditation integrated my current life (heart) with my infinite life (soul, higher self). During the meditation, I was mixing the two areas together, integrating them.

Activating Your “Sacred Space”

After I got into this meditation practice, I noticed that this area of my body they called my “sacred space” would get warm and tingly just before I’d get an important guidance. In fact, sometimes I’d get this warm, intense glow in the center of my chest close to my heart even when I wasn’t paying any attention to this area.

I could be driving my car, for example, on some mundane errand, when all of a sudden I’d feel this intense warming up at the center of my chest. I’d feel a warm, peaceful, uplifting glow even when my life was in chaos and I felt scared, sad, and disconnected.

Moments after feeling this warm glow, I’d notice that I’d get a new insight, or some sort of inner guidance-guidance that helped me resolve specific problems in my life at the time. Having this warm feeling helped me at a time when I wasn’t yet confident in my ability to correctly distinguish my true guidance from my mental conditionings, fears, hopes, or imaginations. It also helped me recognize which inner guidance was important for me to follow.

Listen up … if your higher self gives you guidance it deems important, even critical for you to follow (so that you fulfill your higher purpose), wouldn’t it make sense for you to receive a sign that would be hard for you to ignore?

Touching Your Sacred Space Also Helps Calm You …

Placing your hands on your body as described above while lying down actually helps to calm you, to reconnect you to your true self. (Try it for a while and see.)

Furthermore, this kind of meditation also affirms that your power is within you, not outside of you, and that this is your direct connection to the Divine.

Yoga and the Martial Arts Provide Health and Physical Benefits

The Counsel of Light distinguished between connecting to one’s life force through the practice of martial arts and yoga (which increase the body’s well-being and energy level) and connecting to one’s higher self through the sacred space.

They said martial arts and yoga can connect you to your life force (your chi). Practicing yoga stretches in the morning and martial arts is a way to connect to and increase life force-to heal the body and increase the energy level and general well-being. That makes sense, doesn’t it?

However, they also said that the heart and soul meditation would provide more of an “instant wisdom hit,” for my purpose here wasn’t so much to “work with my chi but to work with the wisdom that comes from universal chi.”

In other words …

Yoga and the martial arts are best at increasing your body’s strength, life force and well-being …

While the heart and soul meditation is best at strengthening your connection with your higher self, accessing its wisdom and developing your intuition. (So that when you act by following your inner guidance, you have Divine will behind that action.)

In summary, yoga will help you focus on your breathing, calm your mind and may even help you reflect on your life, but will it activate your sacred space? If you want to strengthen your connection with your higher self and develop your intuition as quickly and easily as possible, you’ll want to use a meditation practice that connects you to your higher self as directly and as effectively as possible.

FacebooktwitterlinkedinFacebooktwitterlinkedinAyahuasca Spiritual ActivatorEarly last month a friend mentioned she was going to participate in her second Ayahuasca ceremony—which made my ears perk up. I had no idea what an Ayahuasca ceremony is like, only that it involves some kind of herbal drink that makes some people throw up and the night before, one could do a Native American sweat lodge ceremony as part of the experience. Since this friend is a seeker, always searching for healing and greater spiritual awareness (and is grounded in her job as the CFO / CPA of a small company), I was all in.

The other thing I knew about Ayahuasca is what my 21-year-old daughter told me when I said I was going to an Ayahuasca ceremony—Chelsea Handler has done it. (Chelsea Handler, I found out, is a hilarious TV talk show host.)

After registering I received instructions for how to prepare for the ceremony. This included eating cleanly and lightly at least the three days before the ceremony, staying away from violent movies and images, and a few other precautions, such as avoiding alcohol and prescription medications. On the day of the sweat lodge, only fresh fruits were recommended. No problemo, amigo; it’ll be a piece of cake, I thought to myself.

We packed camping equipment such as chairs, sleeping mats, blankets, and coolers with fresh fruit and plenty of water. At the ceremony site, we set up our tent and helped others with their tents. The people arriving for the event were open and friendly and ranged in age from their early 20s through their late 60s.

We were instructed to come to the event with an intention. I wrote my intention on the drive over: to gain momentum with my higher purpose and life.

The Sweat Lodge Ceremony

In the evening a fire was started in the fire pit and rocks were being heated. The rocks would go into the blanket-covered half-dome structure that would serve as the sweat lodge after dusk.

Crawling in one by one, we sat on the ground along the perimeter of the sweat lodge. Hot rocks were brought in, along with a pail of water. Every 15 minutes or so, new freshly glowing rocks from the fire outside …

The two leaders drummed and chanted Native American songs and prayers. We endured the heat and steam for an hour in complete darkness. My long cotton dress got saturated with sweat. The intent was to cleanse ourselves of toxins and prepare for the Ayahuasca the next morning. I enjoyed the sweat lodge and only got slightly uncomfortable the last 10 minutes or so.

The next morning, I had tea and a couple pieces of fruit. We took down our tents and packed them into our vehicles. The ceremony would begin around 9 a.m.

Ayahuasca—the Most Spiritual of all Herbal Substances?

About 50 people gathered with yoga or sleeping mats, blankets and bottles of water. The ceremony area had already been prepared: tarps had been laid on the ground, then utility blankets on top of them. Beautiful art blankets hung from clotheslines attached to trees.

I heard that we’d be on the tarp area for six hours. Although I knew the ceremony included the ingesting of an herbal medicine that alters your consciousness, I had no idea what we’d be doing for six whole hours. Chanting? Drumming? Prayer, Indian style? Role playing? I had no reference for what was to come.

Two leaders, a male and a female, and about a dozen volunteers helped with the process. We received the Ayahuasca medicine in small paper cups. It looked and tasted something like an herbal / mushroom expresso. Most people swallowed it in one gulp. I took four sips and got it all down. It didn’t taste bad.

The sun shone through the canopy of trees. Music came on via an audio system. I lay back on my mat to relax and take it all in. There was a bucket by each person’s side, just in case we needed to puke.

After about 20 minutes or so, I felt the herbal medicine begin its work. One of the first things I felt was a warm glow beginning in the center of my body near my rib cage (where the soul seed is). This feeling reassured me. Then I felt things shifting in my body, as if channels were opening inside my body and brain. I felt something shift inside and voilà—the sky instantly got brighter and the leaves on the trees became radiant with energy.

Within an hour I was fully in the process. I had my eyes open pretty much the whole time. I told myself I was going to be conscious throughout the process.

It’s hard to describe in words what I experienced, but it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I saw, among the canopy of trees, what I can only describe as the Interconnectedness of all life. I saw the web of life.

I Saw the Interconnectedness

If you’ve read my memoir on intuition and awakening, you might remember that the Counsel of Light had told me that the Interconnectedness was real. And you might remember that I had experienced glimpses of it when I followed my inner guidance and amazing synchronicities occurred. But now I could actually see it. I mean I could actually see the Interconnectedness; I could see the web of life and it was so beautiful. It was as if the tree spirits and all of nature were saying to me, we’re here; we’re here for you; we support you. Can you see it? Can you see the bigger picture and how we’re here supporting you?

I sat up and looked at the people all around me. They all appeared completely normal, no distortion there whatsoever. But just beyond them the trees became animated and the leaves dazzled and danced. It was a most interesting visual experience.

My Ayahuasca experience affirmed and confirmed my larger mission to help people strengthen their relationship with their higher self. The day I’m writing this, less than a week later, I feel my intention of moving forward with momentum in this mission is being supported. I feel stronger and I’m moving forward faster.

I did not throw up. Sometimes a few tears came as I witnessed the beauty of nature, the beauty of the experience, the beauty of humanity’s journey. I did not experience anything dark or negative.

Ayahuasca also Releases Toxins

Most people threw up, but not everyone. Throwing up helped release toxins, both the physical as well as the emotional kind. I suspect what came up for people were the things that were blocking them from feeling better in life, the things that were blocking their spiritual awakening and personal growth. With the help of the Ayahuasca, they could now see things with clear vision and process what there was to process. And once they threw up, they felt a lot better immediately.

I can understand why people call Ayahuasca the most spiritual of all herbal substances. Whatever is there for you, you’ll see it with more clarity. Sometimes you won’t like what you see, but you won’t escape what’s there. After all that puking, people felt and looked transformed.

Ayahuasca is like the proverbial red pill. You only need one experience like this and your perspective changes forever. And afterwards, you can’t help but want to have a steady connection with the Interconnectedness. You can’t help but want that kind of clarity. You can’t help but want to continue to strengthen the relationship with your higher self and feel the Interconnectedness working with you daily. And I suspect, strange and wonderful things are bound to happen in your life from then on that no one can predict.Share this

FacebooktwitterlinkedinFacebooktwitterlinkedinYour Higher SelfThere are many good reasons to connect with, and strengthen your relationship with, your higher self. As you’re probably aware, your higher self is also known as your soul, your true self, your authentic self, your inner being, and your access point to God, Spirit, Infinity, the Divine. The top ten reasons to connect with your higher self, in no particular order of importance, are listed below.

1. To discover your higher life purpose.

Everyone has a higher life purpose that we are to fulfill during this time of rapid spiritual awakening and transformation. The way you discover your higher purpose is by developing a deeper, clearer and stronger relationship with your higher self. The “map” or “blueprint” to your higher life purpose is within you and your higher self will guide you on whatever your next step is.

2. To rev up your intuition.

Nothing increases your intuition better than connecting with and paying attention to your higher self. Your higher self will help guide you on your daily path, and you’ll experience more favorable synchronicities. This means whatever you need so that you can fulfill the next step of your higher life purpose will show up for you.

Want to gain confidence in your intuition? Cultivate a strong relationship with your higher self. Want to activate your spiritual awakening? Cultivate a strong relationship with your higher self. Want to see glimpses of your higher life purpose? Cultivate a strong relationship with your higher self. Want to gain confidence in yourself? … You get the picture.

3. To gain access to your wisdom from all time.

Your soul is infinite–meaning it’s been around forever. You’ve probably had many, many lifetimes. You can gain access to that wisdom you’ve acquired by reconnecting within and paying attention to that inner part of you.

When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll begin to receive in the present moment the wisdom from all your past lives, all aspects of yourself, and your innate wisdom will become increasingly available to you now.

4. To clear your karma and make sense of your life and “soul contracts” with others.

When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll begin to understand your life and your soul agreements with others from the perspective of the higher self–which will heal and transform your life. You will then be truly, authentically grateful for having gone through your process (your life path and how it helped you grow). Almost nothing feels better than gratitude when it’s authentic.

5. To restore inner balance, wholeness and peace.

Your soul is the place from where you restore right- and left-brain balance and wholeness (“lower level” human consciousness comes together with “higher level” or “divine” consciousness). After you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll also notice the constant chattering in your head will diminish greatly (if not completely) and the battles that sometimes occur in your mind will diminish.

6. To finally realize your potential.

The energy of your soul is the energy of your potential. (Your potential includes your innate wisdom, and your unique gifts and abilities.)  When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll create a life that you’ll actually love to live.

7. To access Interconnectedness and all its gifts.

When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll connect with Interconnectedness and receive its gifts. This means you’ll experience more flow in your life, more favorable and amazing synchronicities, a sense of perfect timing, greater cooperation with the people in your life, as well as new insights that help increase your understanding of life. These are considered the gifts of Interconnectedness. And when you benefit, so will everyone and everything else around you–as everyone and everything is connected to you through the Interconnectedness.

8. To jump start your spiritual awakening and “Ascension process”

When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll raise your awareness, awaken spiritually, and expand (“ascend”) your consciousness.  In fact, you’ll begin to see the world from a higher perspective, as if you had the perspective of God. After all, your higher self is a fragment of God.

When you begin to see the world from this higher perspective, your behaviors and habits will change, even those habits you’ve had a hard time changing up until that point.

9. To work with more than just your will alone.

When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll be working with more than just your will alone. You’ll have the support of Divine will. Which means that miracles and magic will occur that aren’t possible through your will alone.

Your higher self has access to the larger Divine Plan. By fulfilling your role in the Divine Plan (by fulfilling your higher life purpose), you’ll help bring about the Golden Age for humanity.

10. To finally experience true happiness.

It’s true. When you strengthen your relationship with your higher self, you’ll finally experience true happiness. And that’s because your higher self will be getting expressed in the world. (If your soul doesn’t get expressed in the world, you won’t experience much happiness.)

Plus, when you begin to understand what’s really going on here on Earth, the higher perspective of what’s going on, God’s view, that alone will bring you tons of joy.

So these are the top 10 reasons why it’s worth your while to strengthen your relationship with your higher self.Share this

FacebooktwitterlinkedinFacebooktwitterlinkedinIntuition and SafetyCan your intuition and connection with your higher self help keep you and your children safe? I believe the answer is a resounding yes, and I’m writing this article in response to MaryEllen Tribby’s heartfelt post about the three dreadful events that happened in Orlando mid-June, particularly the tragic death of two-year-old Lane Graves.

In her article titled, “Stop the Blaming and Shaming: Overcoming Tragedies Together,” MaryEllen Tribby’s focus was on the two-year-old boy who was attacked and killed by an alligator at one of Disney’s finest hotels and how his parents must now feel. Especially with so many, through social media, blaming and shaming the parents for their son’s tragic loss.

Being the parent of three children herself, MaryEllen recounts how she was lucky there were no cars driving by when her two-year-old girl darted into the parking lot while she was grabbing her briefcase from the front seat of her car. Or the time her toddler son smacked face-first onto the parking lot from her SUV, as she moved away the shopping cart.

MaryEllen writes that children do not come with an owner’s manual and we cannot hold them in our laps until they’re 18. She’s grateful her own split-second mistakes did not result in tragedy. Which is why, she says, instead of blaming and shaming the parents who have suffered the loss of their children, let’s offer them love and support.

But There’s Something More Parents Can Do

I agree with MaryEllen. But I also want to add there is something more we as parents can do to help keep our children safe: We can strengthen the relationship with our higher self (our soul—which is our connection with the Universe, Everything There Is, God) and follow our intuition, promptly and consistently. We actually can use the innate power within us that hardly anyone knows about … least of all, how to develop it.

I have two children of my own, an 18-year-old and a 21-year-old, and I’ll share some examples where my intuition helped keep my children safe.

Three Real-Life Examples …

When my younger daughter Julianne was between three and four months old, I placed her in one of those bouncy seats and put her on the broad kitchen counter while I unloaded the dishwasher one morning. Bouncy seats are designed for babies between three and six months old, and she lay back, playing with the spinning toys attached to the bouncy seat.

I was putting food containers away when I heard a strange noise, like the sound you’d expect a baby to make if she were in a roller coaster and her stomach dropped. I spun around instantly and caught her and the bouncy seat in my arms. She had bounced off the top rack of the dishwasher, straight into my arms.

I can’t even begin to imagine what would have happened had I not turned around in time. I heard some babies have died when dropped from several feet. (Note to parents and grandparents: Never ever put your baby in a bouncy seat on an elevated surface.)

Another time when Julianne was two, she, her sister Angelika and I went out the back gate of our house to the association pool. Angelika and I were loaded down with towels, swim noodles and other gear, allowing Julianne to slip away and get to the pool first. By the time I got there, less than 10 seconds later, she was nowhere to be seen.

First I did a quick scan of the pool but didn’t see her. I called her name “Julianne, Julianne!” and did a 360º around the landscaped area but didn’t see her there, either. Then I stood silent by the pool and became aware of a chill creeping down my spine. The next thing I “heard” in my head was, “eagle eye, pretend you have the vision of an eagle.” I scanned the pool again carefully and this time, saw a little hand coming out of the pool on the far, deep end. I rushed over and grabbed her hand and she was fine.

The third example is more recent, when Julianne was 14. It was early in her freshman high school year, a Friday night, and she was sleeping over at a girlfriend’s house. I kept in texting contact with her—until around 10:30 pm when she stopped texting back. Feeling something wasn’t right about our conversation, I went out to go look for her. But neither she nor her friend were at the friend’s house. And neither did they answer their phones. I called my older daughter Angelika (who was 17 then) and told her to help find her sister.

Then the friend’s parent and I walked down the street to a third girl’s house where they were all supposed to be—at least that’s what he was told. But they weren’t there, either. And as we walked back I got an alert that someone on my cell phone plan had just called 911.

I called Julianne’s friend, who answered because she didn’t recognize my number. After some discussion, we got the address of the party they attended a few blocks away. By the time we got there, several police cars lined the street and 20 to 30 teenagers sat on the curb, awaiting their parents’ arrival.

I called Angelika, who told me she had Julianne with her. It turned out someone at the party had already texted Angelika to come get her sister as she had a few beers and was puking in the bathtub. Angelika found out the party was given by a 17-year-old boy whose parents were away for the weekend. Then as she helped Julianne to the car she thought to herself, This is wrong. That’s when she called the police.

What To Pay Attention To

As a parent, you must be vigilant and act promptly when you hear odd, unexpected noises, receive intuitive thoughts or impressions, or get the subtle feeling that something isn’t right.

It’s also important to teach your children to listen to their intuition. Every time they ignore their intuition they weaken their relationship with their higher self, put themselves at risk, and even give up their power. Preteen and teenage girls in particular experience this.

Teach Your Teen, Too.

Teach your teen to pay attention to that little feeling in the pit of her stomach or that quiet, still voice that says, “Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this” when someone tries to talk her into doing something not in her best interest. Girls give up their power to boys all the time and regret it later. And when they ignore their intuition, they diminish their relationship with their higher self and their innate power.

It’s clear to me that listening to your intuition will help keep your children safe. In fact, when I was writing my first book, and in constant intuitive flow, I received the strong impression that strengthening the relationship with our higher self absolutely helps to keep us and our children safe.

Besides, God, the Divine, has another motive. When you’re following your inner guidance you’re helping to create a new world, a world that works for everyone (well, that is the Divine Plan …). Which means your spirit guides will want to keep you around so that you can actually fulfill that mission!

To strengthen the relationship with your higher self, follow the steps in the Quick Start Guide available on this blog. And if you have a story to share, an example of when you followed your intuition and it helped keep you or your child safe, please share it in the comment section below. Thank you!Share this

FacebooktwitterlinkedinFacebooktwitterlinkedinPope Francis Year of MercyAt the Catholic funeral mass at my Mom’s funeral a week and a half ago, I picked up the Polish-English Catholic prayer book and read an excerpt from the back cover that was written by Pope Francis last year. Pope Francis describes the current year of December 8, 2015 through November 20, 2016 as the “Jubilee Year of Mercy:”

‘The Jubilee year will close with the liturgical Solemnity of Christ the King on 20 November 2016. On that day … we shall be filled, above all, with a sense of gratitude and thanksgiving … for having granted us an extraordinary time of grace… How much I desire that the year to come will be steeped in mercy, so that we can go out to every man and woman, bringing the goodness and tenderness of God! May the balm of mercy reach everyone, both believers and those far away, as a sign that the Kingdom of God is already present in our midst!”-Pope Francis, “Misericordiae Vultus” (“The Face of Mercy”)

Indeed, I’ve been writing for a while now that the Kingdom of God is already present in our midst, and I will explain what I mean by that. I’ll also explain why an awakened heart is required to truly get this, as well as what is required for one to awaken, as certainly from the surface level of consciousness and existence the world doesn’t look all that heavenly at the moment. In fact, from the surface level perspective, many would argue that the Kingdom of God is far from here, and many are still waiting for the rapture, or for “the end of the world when all souls shall rise from the dead,” or for some other transcendental, ethereal state to arrive through some sort of divine intervention.

But listen up. The only divine intervention that will occur here is the one that happens when you cultivate a strong relationship with your higher self and follow through with your soul’s guidance, your inner guidance, promptly and consistently-which is what Christ had done. This is also what is required in order for you to awaken and it’s how you access the Kingdom of God (both the inner and the outer Kingdoms).

Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ accomplished the mission he had set for himself. He was able to accomplish his mission by cultivating a strong connection with his Higher Self (his connection with God, to the “Father”), conducting his life in such a way that his Higher Self was in the “driver’s seat,” and following through with his inner guidance promptly and consistently.

The Scriptures contain many examples of Christ connecting to spirit and then following through with his higher guidance. In fact, one time Christ spent 40 days alone, in the desert, so he could connect within and be with his “Father,” before gaining the clarity and strength needed to go on with the rest of his life’s work.

Yes, Jesus had a choice back then (well, sort of …). He could have simply gone along with the establishment and not made any waves. But he chose to spend 40 days in “the desert,” in meditation and communion with spirit. Then he chose to go through with where his guidance was taking him.

Why? Because the world was full of ignorance and the people-whom he loved with all his heart and soul-suffered greatly because of this ignorance. (Yep, there wasn’t much of a choice there for him at all … )

And after that, the world was never again the same.

Now, two thousand years later, it’s our turn to cultivate a strong relationship with our higher self (our connection with God, with the “Father”), conduct our lives in such a way such that our higher self is in the driver’s seat, and follow through with our inner guidance (the promptings of our higher self, of our spirit) promptly and consistently, too.

In other words, it’s time for us to fulfill Christ’s legacy.

Some would argue that this is impossible, because we live on a planet of spiritual teenagers. But the truth is, following Christ’s example is how spiritual teenagers transform themselves into spiritual adults.

They do this by first cultivating a strong relationship with their higher self, and then they conduct their lives in such a way so that their higher self (their authentic self, their soul) is in the “driver’s seat.” Of course, part of this process includes following through with their inner guidance promptly and consistently, just as Jesus Christ had done.

Following Christ’s example and perhaps attending a youth ministry program could be one way to transform ourselves from spiritual teenagers into spiritual adults. Following Christ’s example is how we “return to God.” It’s how we gain access to God’s grace. (The “mercy” Pope Francis refers to again and again.) And following Christ’s example is how we’ll resolve the many issues of this planet, and it is how Christ’s vision for a Heaven on Earth (the outer Kingdom of God), will finally be made manifest. Because Heaven on Earth can’t exist on a planet full of spiritual teenagers.

How many spiritual teenagers are still waiting for Christ to return to Earth in the flesh, to take those who believe in him (and in his connection to God) up into Heaven with him? How many believers are still waiting to be swooped up and taken up into “Heaven” simply because of their belief in Christ’s connection to God, or their belief in his divinity, or their recitation of specific prayers? How long will they continue to wait, while ignoring Christ’s example and teachings? How long will they choose to remain ignorant?

I assert that Jesus Christ has already accomplished his mission, his work is already done, and in order for you to see this (including seeing that the Kingdom of God is already present in your midst) you must simply follow in Christ’s footsteps and actually strengthen the relationship with your Higher Self, with your own heart and soul-your direct connection with God. Because let’s face it, there are some things you get only through action and firsthand experience, not through recitation of doctrine, theorization, belief, cogitation, book learning-as Christ’s own disciples had eventually come to realize. This is one of them.Share this

FacebooktwitterlinkedinFacebooktwitterlinkedinconnect with your higher selfLast weekend, at a New Living Expo expert panel discussion on cultivating conscious awareness, a gentleman in the audience asked, how do you connect to your higher self?

From the responses of the panelists, it’s obvious to me that when it comes to understanding the higher self and what it means to connect to one’s higher self,  we’re still really not all that advanced. I’ll explain why.

First, let’s examine the question asked by the gentleman in the audience: “Can you tell me how we can connect to our higher self?”

Well, the truth is, you’re already connected to your higher self. If you weren’t, you’d be dead.

So the real question he asked goes beyond simply being connected to his higher self, because he already is connected.

So why do you suppose he asked that question?

Most likely, the real reason he wants to connect to his higher self is that his life isn’t working all that well. Maybe he’s experiencing challenges in his personal relationships, or at his job, or maybe his life isn’t as fulfilling as he’d like it to be.  Maybe he’s looking at the state of the world (and the state of his world) and it depresses him. Maybe his relationship with himself isn’t all that hot, either, and his hope is that by connecting with his higher self, he’ll receive the insight and the guidance that’ll begin to turn things around for him. (Why else do people want to connect to their higher selves, anyway?)

So the question the man asked the panel isn’t really about how he can connect to his higher self, is it? No. The real question is, how does he connect to his higher self so that he feels connected and he experiences being connected and his higher self guides him in his life daily and he experiences the manifestation of this higher power / higher consciousness in his life daily and his life gets transformed as a result of this connection.

So the real question is: how does he strengthen the relationship he has with his higher self so that it becomes as real to him as any of his other relationships?

The panelists responded to his question, “How do you connect to your higher self?” but I can’t see how the answers they gave him could have helped him all that much: Go within, was one answer. Get into a state of deep consciousness.

It has to do with sound frequencies, was another answer.

Tune your antennae, was another answer.

You have a connection between your heart and your brain. The heart helps you access it, was another response.

You access it with your emotional state, yet another response.

(Answers we’ve all heard a million times before–which means they’re not all that effective at actually helping you gain access to that higher consciousness.)

I think we all can agree that it takes more than just meditation or tuning into special sound frequencies to effect life transformation.

True, it does begin with having a certain level of awareness and yes, you do want to have an effective meditation that connects the heart with the soul (your current life with your infinite life, respectively), and yes, there are important steps you take after that. Such as, paying attention to a certain area in your body (your “sacred space”) and following through with your inner guidance promptly and consistently.

And there’s more you you should be aware of. For example, how are you going to gain the courage to follow through with your intuition promptly and consistently if your inner guidance doesn’t make logical sense to you? Or if it’s inconvenient for you to do so? Or if you don’t know what’s possible when one follows through with one’s intuition as you don’t have a whole lot of real-life examples of this and all of this is new to you?

Or what if you don’t even recognize your inner guidance, or can’t distinguish it from your mental conditionings or fears? (Most people have ignored their inner guidance / intuition for so long that the connection is very weak.)

The truth is, every time you ignore your intuition you weaken your relationship with your higher self, give up your power, and possibly, place yourself in some kind of trouble. (This is probably what prompted that gentleman to ask his question.)

Don’t do that. Get my free Quick Start Guide (the opt-in box is located near the top of the right-hand column) and begin the journey that revs up your intuition, gives you back your power, and transforms your life.
