2013 Predictions – The Year of Great Potential

I listened to a few people (astrologers, channelers, bloggers) make predictions for 2013 and I’m sharing in this blog post my “take” on 2013 predictions and what I feel are the most important themes to consider regarding this year.

Basically, what I’ve seen is that there aren’t a whole lot of wonderful, lovey-dovey, fluffy predictions for this year. One person (Mike Adams of NaturalNews.com) predicted a number of unpleasant events happening in the U.S. over the next three years, that have to do with our rights being eroded here. Another person, a channeler, is spreading the message that it will take about “two and a half generations to fully integrate the New Paradigm.” (How does she know? Well, actually she doesn’t know for sure; she’s just guessing.)

From what I understand of this time period (meaning, after December 21, 2012), we are more oriented towards the Light than not right now. In my eBook, Activating 2012: A Practical Guide I explain that the astronomy shows that the planet’s “GPS” is now oriented towards galactic light, which is good news. Of course this does not mean that life on this planet will now all of a sudden become hunky-dory, but that the guidance system of this planet is now oriented towards the Light (whereas before, it was actually oriented away from the light, toward the dark).

I understand that there will be many challenging events still to come on this planet, but the good news is that these events are actually helping to activate positive change; they are helping to awaken the people, even if sometimes it seems like one individual at a time. For example, my awakening process did not happen because I had heard about the wonderful “New Age” that was upon us. Rather, it kicked in because of some painful, confusing events that happened in my life over 10 years ago, that I couldn’t explain with the framework I had at the time. The other good news is, the scales are finally tipped in favor of the light. (Whereas before, if you look at the collective experience, one could say that the “dark” has had the “upper hand,” has been “winning” for quite a long time.)

All this is good news, but what does this mean for the individual? It means that now, more than ever, we need to follow our inner guidance system, the “internal compass” that’s oriented toward the light–which is our higher self. The individual must follow his or her own inner guidance to fulfill his or her potential.

This is indeed the message of a couple of the astrologers I have listened to earlier this month: In 2013 it is extremely important that we seek the light and have our actions be guided by the light. If you seek the light (by “light” I mean your higher self, your soul, your higher consciousness, higher awareness, greater connection with Source and truth) and muster up the courage to align your life with that light, you will be supported by the Universe, you will receive guidance when you need it, you will get clearer and it will get easier for you. It will be easier to fulfill your potential. In other words, those who seek the higher path will receive more support from the Universe than those who just go along with the status quo or societal pressure.

The following is an example of a very simple but empowering change one can make–thanks to a former client of mine that I ran into at Trader Joe’s just yesterday. Mitchell is a local businessman, about 60 years old, who has completely changed how he eats: no more gluten, the dairy is gone, no processed junk, and no hormone beef. He’s been juicing vegetables and eating “natural” and in a few months, he lost 35 pounds. His goal is to get off all medication, including blood pressure medication. He’s off of cholesterol medication, as his cholesterol went down enough, and he’s been testing himself to see what’s responsible for reducing his cholesterol. (He’s not just blindly following doctor’s orders, he’s experimenting and testing himself, he said.)

What motivated him to change his habits is personal pain (the ultimate motivator). He had realized that he and his friends who are his age all had the same complaints: an extended belly, an extra 30 to 40 pounds or more, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout and other unpleasant symptoms and he decided to “cross that bridge” and do something about it. He’s not particularly “spiritual” or a light-worker, but this is how we create a new world, by beginning to change the things we can change; we begin where we are. When we do this we become more empowered, and we are closer to reaching our potential.

If you are a light-worker, if you consider yourself more aware than the average person, the following message is for you: one of the astrologers I listened to advises that we take our higher work seriously this year. 2013 is the year of great potential, it’s the year to take your higher purpose seriously–by setting your goals for this year by the end of January and then making agreements with yourself and others that will help you manifest your goals. (If you don’t know how to make your goals happen, ask the Universe for guidance on the how-to and you will receive the right guidance so that you achieve the results and receive the rewards.)

When we as individuals follow our inner guidance, eventually we will have greater light manifest in the larger world. When you are fully doing your higher purpose, you won’t worry so much about what’s going on in the outer collective. (You will have the inner understanding that what’s happening in the world is for the greatest growth and learning and transformation of all.)

So yes, it will take some time to transform every corner of this planet, but when you’re on your path fully and the amazing synchronicities and favorable events begin to occur, it will become obvious to you that you have crossed over the threshold into the age of light–and it will become that much easier to help others around you as well.

This was very well written (and received!). I agree…….and I am “tickled” by the synchronicity throughout your post. First, I have recently “become sure” of the time table you mention of 2 1/2 generations passing before we realize our dreams of the New Age. I have been teaching my grand daughter (who lives will me) that I believe HER generation will all learn more than mine, and not HER children, but her GRANDCHILDREN will hear her stories of this world that she is growing up in and will look at her with wonder at how humans could possibly have lived this way with all this corruption, greed, violence etc. And THAT is the generation that will truly have evolved.
Then I read your story about the man and is efforts to really test out what is and is not good for his own body and health. HA! that is exactly what I am doing! I have struggled with continued weight gain for many years now and suffer from all the aches and pains and high blood pressure etc. associated with age. (or so I always thought…..) I recently just DECIDED that I am taking my own health into my own hands. I have been reading up on the various foods that can cause inflammatory conditions in the body and am making positive changes and the pounds are coming off! (i consider SUGAR to be poison now….not an easy feat for someone who has always been known for her baking skills!) I deleted dairy for a while then had some last night and had a very restless night’s sleep and woke with more pain. So….no more dairy for me!
I have also become aware that I have “big changes coming’ my way….meaning I know that I have a purpose I am not fulfilling and I am looking for the “signs” now to show me….what I am getting is that I must address my health and just be open to “teaching and spreading the word” to those who seek that from me….especially to the children of this generation, so that is what I am doing. Thank you for your blog! It just confirms what I already knew and that is important that we get these conformations so we will keep going along our path.
    Blessings!

    • Wow, Vicky! What a very inspiring message you have! Thank you for sharing your experiences because they are helping many, even though it may not seem so at this time.

While it may take 2 and a half generations to transform the whole world so that it looks completely different on the outside, A LOT can change fairly rapidly in the personal lives of those who take inspired action now. This is the reason why I’m not particularly thrilled with this prophesy, because it’s too general, and it does not account for the fact that some areas will transform more rapidly than others (where there’s more focus and effort on living from creation rather than survival, for instance). There will be “transformed microcosms” that help spread transformation and inspiration to the larger “macrocosm.”

In my last blog post I have listed the most common foods that nutritionist JJ Virgin considers the most inflammatory (JJ is now teaching MDs nutrition). If you haven’t read that article, you might want to do so!

Again, thank you for sharing and I so appreciate your comment! Blessings, Christine

Hello Christine and thank you for this information. I would like to mention about taking charge of our own health. Just like your friend Mitchell, some years ago i was taking medication for high blood pressure, arthritis, and something else to prevent the arthritis pills from causing me to get stomach ulcers.I was also bloated and not feeling “well” is the only way to describe myself. I started going to a spirtual group and with meditation and relaxation sessions, I eventually reduced the blood pressure medication to none. I had been taking three different tablets per day for this. It took me about a year to achieve this but it was worth it. My doctor was surprised at this but couldn’t argue with my blood pressure readings. Some years later,I went to an alternative practioner to see if I could do the same re- the arthritis medication. He suggested that I take several natural supplements instead of the prescription pills. It is still a work in progress as I still have pain, but I don’t feel ill like before, and the supplements have a gradual build up process so I will continue with them. I don’t take any prescription pills now and am better for it. I was told that I would have to take those pills for the rest of my life. I meditate and feel very relaxed and have been off the blood pressure pills for nearly five years . So we can change our own health. I have also ordered the J.J.Virgin diet book that you recommended and awaiting it’s arrival. I am hoping that it will help with my arthritis as well as the supplements I’m taking, so thank you for that information. Linda.

    • Thanks for your comment, Linda. I am sure that reducing the inflammatory foods in your diet will make a big difference in your arthritis. I believe that nutrition, exercise as well as meditation all help contribute to wellness. Joe (who also commented in this blog post) also has a personal message for you re: arthritis, so make sure you read his comment. Thanks for sharing your experience! Christine

    Christine,

Looking for some advice. I have had the feeling for over a year that what I am doing with my life is not in line with my highest potential (regular office job 8-5 working for the pharma industry which I do not particularly align with socially/economically/politically).
I am getting *flashes* of my life seeing that I have great potential to help other lives, but that potential, it seems, can easily be foregone for an average life, if I let it. I also see that to go that route it will certainly be challenging. That is all the specifics I have on visions of my future self.
When of calm mind I sometimes probe the spiritual realm with some questions. Some of which are met with generic answers, some of which are met with specific answers. But when I ask the question “What is my life purpose” of “What is my intended life’s work” I am met simply with the vision of a smile, as if to say, “I can’t tell you”. How should I go about fulfilling my highest potential when I don’t know what it should be, only that there is a strong, strong feeling that I’m not there yet.

Thank you for your continued encouragement to all of your readers.

    January 16, 2013
    • Hi Steve, you begin by asking for guidance and taking little steps at first. So you might not plunge into your highest potential at first, no big deal (it’s unlikely anyone will, for that matter). But you can begin by making little changes you’re guided to make that over time will add up, while at the same time you have gained a greater confidence in yourself and in your inner guidance.

So, set some goals for yourself and ask your higher self to help you with them. Spend 5 minutes each night before you go to bed on what you learned that day, what was different, and ask for further guidance during your sleep. Then the next morning ask for how you can assist that day; five minutes is fine if that’s all you can spare.

Re your question: “But when I ask the question “What is my life purpose” of “What is my intended life’s work” I am met simply with the vision of a smile, as if to say, “I can’t tell you”—I have found that guidance often comes on a need-to-know basis. Even when I was told by the Counsel of Light several years before that I would write “children’s books,” I found out that that wasn’t particularly accurate. My life purpose grew and transformed depending on what I had created / experienced, the different paths that were available and what I chose. So do allow for a lot of flexibility. The important thing is to begin now, and to take the small steps so that you feel like it’s really happening, you’re really growing towards your true potential. Thanks for commenting! Christine

  6. I hope you’re feeling back to your optimal health and happiness. I too am going through some very interesting changes in my beliefs. I will only say that my HS
has things for me to face that have really got me looking at many things that
I never thought were ?’s. Hope to see all on the more refined levels.

A lot of things DIDN’T happen on 12-21-12 that many of us thought or had hoped would happen. It was too good to be true. If those things had happened we wouldn’t have to do this WORK. They galactics would have done it for us. I believe they are still here but we are needing to guide ourselves to our healing. It is similar to expecting a Doctor to take charge of our healing. We have to d it ourselves. We have to change our diets, like MItchell, and not rely on others for our healing. Our higher self must guide us and sometimes like with me it took an illness.

Sorry to hear you had the flu. I hear that often. As you know I am on a diet similar to Mitchell and I do not have to worry about getting ill. No colds , no flu shots, no flu. In fact being around people that are sick and contagious helps my body build up antibodies. My clients call me when they are sicjk and say,” I shouldn’t come I am so sick I don’t want you to catch it”. I assure them not to worry.

And as a result of eating these foods, my meditation is deeper and more beneficial for me and others. It stimulates the pineal gland, etc.

Anyway, much love and light to you and your health, and to all the lightworkers. We have to get back to it. Work and love to be done.

    In the light , Christopher

    @ Linda,

I buy used books whenever I have extra money
in my pocket. One I bought several months ago
    you might be interested in.

    “How to Eat Away Arthritis”

    of arthritis through nature’s remedies.’

    I don’t always read every book I buy cover-to-cover.
I mostly buy them to save for future reference. This
one does seem to be good. The title of the first chapter
reads: “How Restorative Foods Reverse Arthritis the

I don’t struggle with fulfilling my goals as much as my struggle with not knowing what they are. I agree with everyone that it is time to help ourselves and “good health” is one of the most important ones. Diet plays a BIG role and I feel that I have accomplished that. I eat no processed food, only organic vegetables, non-gluten grains, fruit, legumes, nuts and seeds.
Animals, and all animal secretions went out of my diet years ago. Actually, this was not because of health, but rather for humane reasons. I feel that until people stop the mis-treatment and killing of other animals it will remain our repressed cultural shadow and will be projected out in non-peaceful ways.
I feel so strongly about this fact, and it seems that my goal should be to illuminate the far-reaching implications of our food choices and the worldview that they both reflect and mandate. But I find it impossible to know how to come up against such a resistance (or total disconnect) of this issue because everyone has grown up with such powerful cultural conditioning surrounding food.
Dr. Will Tuttle, in “World Peace Diet” says:
“We are not fundamentally physical beings; we are essentially consciousness. We are all expressions of the infinite creative mystery force that births and sustains the universes of manifestation, and our bodies and minds are sacred, as are the bodies and minds of all creatures. Like us, animals have feelings and yearnings; they nest, mate, hunger, and are the conscious subjects of their lives. They make every effort, as we do, to avoid pain and death and to do what brings them happiness and fulfillment.”
All of us here on this blog are hearing the persistent call to evolve. But by seeing other animals merely as objects to be exploited for food, we we are blind to the essential nature of the universe, that humans, and non-humans alike, are expressions of a beautiful and benevolent universe.

    • Thank you Sharon for a beautiful message. It is a vision that we are headed towards. My friend Mitchell who I mentioned in this blog post is actually leaning towards a vegan lifestyle (I was pleasantly surprised.) I for one will also incorporate more salads and vegetables (and home-made smoothies) this year. Thank you always for sharing! Many blessings, Christine

I agree. What is next? So another year of rolling on with the small obstacles in our lives. Brilliant that we can have syncronicities and favourable results, although it doesn’t seem very special… maybe my higher self and the collective movement is just resting. It seems like this year is heading toward the light for sure, but from looking at people comments it seems we are none the wiser and a bit lost in waiting for some next event or step. How long will it last before this slow transition and hope fades into life life. I am sure I am wrong but it has to be said – we are following guidance to what end, to what goal? What will the new paradigm be?

    January 16, 2013
    • Hmmmh…A world that works for everyone? Learning through joy rather than pain and suffering? Living from creation rather than survival and fear? Peace? Fairness and justice? I’m sure we can think of lots more, and I think it is up to us, no?

But yeah, I can get your point about waiting for the next “event.” But there’s nothing to wait for anymore. We have time for a quick rest, and then we get on with things. (Up to you on what those things are…) Many blessings to you Laurence! Christine

    Hi everyone!

Really interesting post! A good message for 2013, I hope a lot more people realize the potencial they have and seek another direction, doing things that make them alive, leaving the old behind. Althought there is a massive amount of people, who thinks, this is just a hippie wave, and lost themselfs in anger and hate, wondering how things are going to change, if people are giving up the old way of thinking and living a more peacefull life. I believe we will be surprised in the next years with the changes that are already in development, not just spiritually, but in science and technology, i mean quantum phisics. And this crisis is as a blessed oportunity, because people are being spited out of a materialist selfish society, and then unconsciently they became more open to crative things, have more time to ask, just like that old guy who became vegetarian…By the way i love synchronization!!!Is just another proof of our connection, our potencial, especially when you have a labrodorite by your side!!!eheheeh!
