To some extent we all know that the year 2012 represents a time of great transformation and change on this planet, and for the beginning of the Golden Age. But what is the catalyst for this transformation and change? And what motivates you to grow and change the most in your life?

I read a comment on another blog recently that was pure wisdom and I’ll share it with you here. But first, I have been saying for years that things will get worse on this planet before they get better, and I’m still saying that. But that’s because all the bad stuff being exposed motivates us to make real and significant changes in our world…changes that will contribute to the larger 2012 transformation. (I feel the tide will begin to turn sometime later this year.) Anyway, Katie’s comment:

Humans by and large are moved toward growth and expansion by trauma. What is more outwardly traumatic than the world we live in today? This overtly corrupt world is helping to open the eyes of many, readying them for connection with their own inner Source and power.  And help is always readily available on the inner planes. Would as many be waking up if the Enlightened Ones were softening the blows?–Katie

I like to call this growth and expansion “The Big Test” that each individual is going through. The Big Test involves discovering for yourself what you’re truly capable of, getting in touch with your inner power by applying it daily, getting your manipulated human mind (brainwashed by years of disempowering messages such as, “You’re not good enough,” “You’re incapable,” “Who do you think you are, anyway?” etc.) to accept that you really are a powerful, worthy and wonderful being.. particularly when you’re fulfilling your higher purpose and contributing to the creation of the Golden Age for all. (We all like to have evidence and results to back things up, you know…)

So…what motivates personal growth and expansion more than challenge, hardship, and even trauma? From my own personal experience, I can definitely say that the close-to-traumatic events in my life (beginning about 10 years ago) motivated my transformation and change the most. The difference now is, I notice that there are many more people (even in my own circle of friends) experiencing personal challenges than there were about ten years ago.

Here’s a important point to take from this blog post: What made those events “close-to-trauamtic” (and not truly traumatic) was the knowing I had (communicated to me by the Counsel of Light) that there was a divine reason I was in the deep doo-doo, that there wasn’t anything wrong with me, that I was in this because of the things that were right about me, and that my experience would later help many others. Getting through my experience transformed, strengthened and uplifted by the challenging events rather than being crushed by them and sharing that experience was going to help others. (This is the story my memoir tells…about my Big Test.)

Anyway, the blog post where I found Katie’s comment claimed that the Enlightened Ones/Angels/ETs have ascended and have now actually abandoned us: Just look all around you, nothing’s happening; we’re left alone. But this viewpoint isn’t true at all.

It may appear that way, but that’s because it’s difficult for the Enlightened Ones/Angels/ETs to get through to the consciousness of the vast majority of people on this planet.

The way the “Angels” help you is to guide you–through your inner guidance and “signs” they give you that some think are signs from “God” or the “Universe.”  They “rescue us” by guiding us, and this is how the transformation will manifest.

Transformation is likely to occur when your inner pain and need for change becomes greater than the discomfort you feel when you step outside your comfort zone. Pain and anguish are the ultimate motivators.

Emotional pain and confusion is what had me search for answers years ago…and I was led to the Counsel of Light, who were already waiting for me. They guided me through several channeled messages (received through a Channel) and I followed through with my guidance for years. Now I can understand this Ascension process, and the importance of reconnecting with your higher self and following through with your inner guidance such that you fulfill your higher purpose. I know that more people will awaken, and the way that will happen is by things getting even worse before they get better.

But no matter how crazy things get in your life, try to view it from this perspective: The chaos isn’t happening because there’s something wrong with you, but that you are going through a big test that will lead to your upliftment and the Golden Age in the not-too-distant future. Viewing it this way will make it a lot easier to get through.

I know that David Wilcock and many others have also spoken about the importance of alleviating the fears of those who don’t know what’s going on (your neighbors, family and friends) when some challenging events (such as the mass arrests of some elite) occur in the “near future.” Understanding better what’s going on will help people make it through the hard times with much more grace and ease.

Do you feel that your daily struggles prevent you from fulfilling your higher purpose? In this post, I expand a bit further on the topic of higher purpose, inspired by a reader’s comment from my last post. Jonas wrote,

“My question is, I feel like my belief that I have a higher purpose places me in a position where I feel like I should back away from all my daily struggles and try “winging it”; as in listening to my inner guidance for the next step in life after having dropped major parts of my life (friends/family/job/living place) as a cause of this belief. Should I not be backing away from my struggles? Sometimes I feel like my struggles are distracting me from my higher self/purpose, yet this seems potentially like an excuse to “escape” the problems. Could I develop a greater connection to my higher self if I stopped the daily struggles/demands and solely focused on my inner development (as uncertain as the future may then be) or is it better for my growth to let the time come when my higher self gets through to me in spite (or because) of my daily struggles? Any advice or thoughts?”

What a great question! I totally get where he’s coming from and am reminded of the time several years ago when I was struggling to begin my higher purpose. I wanted to know what my higher purpose was, and I wanted to begin it, NOW! (That’s becasue my life was really painful back then. Some weird events had turned my life into a painful mess, and I just knew that the faster I was doing my higher purpose, the sooner my life would get back in order…A great motivator, by the way.)

The first thing the Counsel of Light had me do was develop a deeper, clearer relationship with my higher self. The Counsel of Light knew my life situation (a family, not a lot of free time, two little kids) so they asked me to spend about 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before I went to bed in meditation, and to write for a few minutes whenever I had the chance.

They called this time in meditation cultivating the “vertical connection,” the connection with my higher self. I did not have a whole lot of time to focus on this vertical connection (my inner development) as I had family responsibilities while going through a personal crisis. In fact, most days a 10-15 minute meditation in bed is all I actually accomplished towards this vertical connection.

Then some months later the Counsel of Light talked to me about developing the “horizontal connection”–the connection you have in the real world. This was about bringing your higher self into the real world through your actions, attitude, speaking, and so on. So…there’s the vertical connection and the horizontal connection.

No one can say that the vertical connection is more important than the horizontal connection, or that the horizontal connection is more important. I have found that both are equally important.  And in fact, I discovered that it’s when I took action in the real world that I made the fastest spiritual progress. It’s when I worked the muscles of the horizontal connection that my confidence in my higher self (the vertical connection) grew the most.

Futhermore, following through with your inner guidance in the real world should help you resolve your daily struggles. It should help you get through your struggles successfully by finding new solutions to them. I still experience daily struggles, but I see them in a totally different light now. I don’t view them as obstacles to my goals anymore but rather as opportunities in disguise, placed there by divine design. In fact, the Counsel of Light said that going through the situation rather than trying to get out of it is a way to get you further than you ever thought possible. So rather than backing away from or trying to escape the struggles of daily life, accept them and ask how you can move things forward.

Remember that you don’t know what your higher purpose is. Nobody knows. I wrote in my last post that your higher purpose will likely be in an field you’re passionate about, but that doesn’t mean you have to be an expert in that field right now.

For example, I was not trained to be a writer; I knew I wasn’t any good, anyway. And I certainly wasn’t confident as a writer when I was told by the Counsel of Light that I would write books. However, the Counsel of Light “eased” me into this undertaking by telling me that I would write “children’s books.” (Children’s books…not such a bid deal. I think I could do it I thought back then…)

However…over time I developed the capacity to write by listening within, writing it down, and spending many, many hours working on my writing, getting feedback, etc. And once I was on a roll, the so-called “children’s books” became books for adults.

So with regard to the question of focusing on your inner development (the “vertical” connection), you really don’t need a lot of time out of your day to do that. Fifteen minutes a day in the morning, fifteen at night, and paying attention to your sacred space several times a day (which “preps” you to watch for your inner guidance) is what you need. And then what you really need to do is to implement (follow through promplty and consistently) in the real world (the “horizontal” conenction) for maximum growth and forward movement.

In summary, it’s the integration of the vertical connection with the horizontal connection that allows for the fastest personal and spiritual development.

Have you been keeping up with all that’s being reported lately in the online alternative press? A reader emailed me, asking for my feedback on some recent topics he’s come across. For example, he wanted my feedback on David Wilcock’s work at DivineCosmos.com, specifically on the recent articles David has written on global financial tyranny (and those responsible for it).

I have read parts of David Wilcock’s articles on global financial tyranny. I’ve also recently heard about the rumors of arrests of now over 300 bank CEOs, all around the world. There’s even a rumor that billionaire Bill Gates himself has been arrested. (Interestingly, Dr. Joseph Mercola wrote an article on Bill Gates just this past week, titled, Bill Gates: One of the World’s Most Destructive DoGooders?)

Besides these rumors, there’s a lot of corruption being exposed on the Internet in all areas of life. The way I see it, the mainstream is beginning to realize that the things we were led to believe were true, in many cases are not true. (And often I’m not surprised.)

Of course it’s a good idea to keep yourself informed, to raise your awareness about what’s going on. But at the same time, be careful not to get too caught up in distractions so that your own higher purpose suffers. My contribution at this time is to help people learn how to reconnect to their higher self such that they fulfill their unique contribution. You won’t see me posting much about solar flares, crop circles, alien sightings, financial markets and politics in this blog–because these topics are not relevant to reconnecting with your higher self and following your inner guidance. (Those topics would be relevant to you if your higher purpose is to contribute to and expand upon them.)

The way I see it, each and every one of us has a specific, unique gift that we are to share (with our family, community and world) and sharing that gift should be our priority. Neither you nor I can do much about the Banker arrests as neither of us are directly involved in that project. There are others who are directly involved and it is their job. Your primary focus is to fulfill your own higher purpose. (Which is what causes the great shift in your consciousness and contributes to The Great Shift in the world.)

Remember that only your higher self would know what that purpose would be, and you learn your higher purpose by following through with your inner guidance promptly and consistently.

So don’t get caught up in all these distractions but rather, use your time wisely by working on your contribution as much as possible by following through with your inner guidance promptly and consistently as well as working on the projects that call to you. Otherwise, you will take longer to fulfill your contribution than you need to. (For example, I could have easily taken longer than three months to write my eBook, but I kept focused daily and stayed away from Internet distractions.) Remember also, your contribution will most likely be in an area you’re passionate about and/or personally involved in.

Having said that, a couple of weeks ago I listened to an interview of a former Navy Seal named Bill Wood (aka Brockbrader) on Wolf Spirit Radio. (I did this while cleaning my house.) During the interview, one of the hosts named White Wolf said something I thought was brilliant. White Wolf explained why the changes that many have been wanting for quite some time are taking so long to come.

“No matter how bad your life seems to be, you’re walking in that negativity for a reason. You are putting yourself up against a wall for a reason… And the reason is to show you that you don’t want that anymore. But you understand that the Matrix makes you lazy. The energy Matrix of this prison that we are all involved in makes you lazy, makes you listless. And so it takes great adverse conditions to force us into proactivity.”–quote posted on Facebook, taken from a Wolf Spirit Radio interview, 2/23/2012 part 2, spoken by White Wolf.

I understand his point. It took me many months to “get the ball rolling” with my own higher purpose. And I understand why my life circumstances were as difficult as they were. If things had been easy, I would have remained stuck in my comfort zone. I also know I would have never done the things I have done the last several years if I wasn’t up against a wall.

Furthermore, I saw the crazy, confusing events in my life as catalysts that were designed to teach me how to help humanity with the transformation and shift in consciousness that’s occurring right now. If I had viewed them any less than that, I’m not so sure I would have done as well.

What is needed right now is the individual reconnecting to his or her higher self. Then from that place of inner power, you make choices about what you do or do not want to participate in, whether you want to read some material or belong to some group–or not. When your own individual inner guidance system is strengthened, you can make your choices based on your direct connection with Source, rather than on conventional wisdom. (I include in this category New Age conventional wisdom, Christian conventional wisdom, Buddhist, Kabbala, etc.–even if it differs from mainstream conventional wisdom.)
The truth is, most people on this planet are not there yet. (And I m not surprised the person wanting my feedback on these “off” topics has expressed to me his disappointment about not yet experiencing a lot of synchronicities around his own higher purpose. Maybe part of the reason is he’s too distracted?

Have you ever followed through with your inner guidance and something amazing happened as a result? In my last blog post I promised to share what happened to a friend of mine within a month of reading my first book, What Everyone Believed: A Memoir of Intuition and Awakening. I want to share this example with you to demonstrate the power of learning by example, the power of the “copy-cat” approach–as opposed to the learning of theory. But first, let me summarize the how-to (the method) for connecting and integrating with your higher self:

How To Connect With Your Higher Self

  1. Cultivate a relationship with your higher self (using quiet time in contemplation, daily meditation, taking a minute or two to “check in,” to focus on your sacred space several times a day)
  2. Learn to recognize and distinguish your inner guidance from your mental conditionings, your wants and outside influences
  3. Ask your higher self for guidance (e.g. ask specific questions, ask for clear guidance)
  4. Follow through on the guidance promptly and consistently (this part might require a bit of faith and courage at first)
  5. See what happens as a result, and begin to put the “puzzle pieces” together one by one

Don’t worry about step number 5 as this “synthesis” is done automatically. (Your mind will get it automatically. You will begin to see the bigger picture automatically.)

By following the steps above, you will discover who you really are and what you’re truly capable of. You will discover your unique contribution, your potential, your unique gift that you are to share with the world. The method described above is the best way to teach yourself, to discover all these things, as well as the best way to do the “emotional clearing” work (“energy clearing” work) that we’re all being asked to do right now as part of the shift in consciousness on this planet.

How long will all this take? That depends on your higher self’s plan. However, it doesn’t have to take long to achieve some results so that you’re encouraged to continue on this path. The following is a real-life example of what happened to a friend of mine within a month of reading my first book, What Everyone Believed: A Memoir of Intuition and Awakening.

A Friend Follows Through With His Inner Guidance

G. is a parent at my younger daughter’s school and works hard as a deck builder for homeowners in Silicon Valley. Years ago, G. had given up on his dream to own a vacation home in the Sierra foothills because he knew he couldn’t afford one. But after reading my book, he planned a camping trip to Bear Valley with his family…and visited a realtor while there.

The realtor informed G.’s family that there weren’t any properties available within their budget. But as they left the realtor’s office, G.’s inner guidance told him to look around on his own. They drove around…and came across a house with a “Sale Pending” sign on the front lawn. G.’s inner guidance told him to get out of the car and look around. He listened, even though it didn’t make any sense to him.

The property seemed perfect, everything G. and his family could have hoped for. G. knocked on the door and introduced himself to the owner, who welcomed them in and explained that despite what the sign said, the house was up for sale again. He explained that the deal had fallen through earlier that day, which put him in a terrible bind. (He had just bought a house in Oregon.) “Make me an offer,” he told G.

G. and his wife made an offer that was considerably below the owner’s asking price. “I can’t give you what you want for this house,” G. told the owner, “but I can give you my word I’m good for this much.”

The owner accepted G.’s offer. The following week G. and his wife found a mortgage with good terms. Then while working on a deck for a client, G. was offered a Viking stove, dishes, pots and pans, appliances, almost everything he needed to furnish his new kitchen…because he happened to mention that he had just bought a new vacation home. (And G.’s client just happened to be remodeling her kitchen at the time.) Then a friend of G.’s called to say that he was moving and needed to sell his furniture. So G. was able to furnish most of his vacation home for about five hundred dollars.

All this happened within one month of reading my book. G. told me that he attributes everything that happened to his feeling “in tune with himself” after reading my memoir.

This wonderful example happened a few years ago, but I spoke to G. about a month ago and he and his family are doing well…and enjoying their vacation home in the Sierras.

As you begin to see the results from following through with your own inner guidance (favorable synchronicities, new insights, “signs” from the universe, a sense of greater cooperation in life, etc.), your confidence and trust in your higher self (and in divine plan) will grow. It will continue to grow until you begin to trust your higher self more than anything or anyone outside of yourself. Having this kind of trust in your higher self will help you make huge strides in your personal development and in your unique contribution to your family and your community–which will help bring about the “Golden Age” much more quickly. This is the Divine Plan.

Look, your higher self wants you to learn to trust your inner guidance so that you fulfill your higher purpose here, so that you fulfill your potential. This is why more often than not, you will be richly rewarded when you follow through with your inner guidance. (It motivates you to keep going.) So then…are you finally ready to connect with your higher self and follow through with your inner guidance?

More and more people are beginning to realize that the next step in their process of spiritual growth and evolution (and the “Ascension” of their consciousness) is to connect to their higher self and seek within for their own guidance, rather than to look to other people or to channeled messages for guidance…regardless of which “ascended master” the message is coming from.

In fact, I received an email from a subscriber earlier this week in response to my last blog post titled, “Is Channeling On the Decline?”  Pat-Anjali Kennedy let me know that she and all the Channels she knows have recently been guided from within to pull back and stop enabling the people who are not yet seeking for themselves…because it’s urgent that each individual seeks his or her own guidance from within. (This may explain why medium Geoffrey Hoppe–who channels Adamus St. Germaine–did not channel during his “annual predictions” event earlier this year. Instead, he and his wife Linda gave listeners practical advice for the year.)

Pat-Anjali Kennedy was guided through her Source-Being: “It is time for humanity to begin seeking now to find it for themselves …It is urgent everyone does so, as they will not seek it as long as there are posted messages that serve to distract, delay, and enable them to become co-dependent upon Channeled messages….They must find it for themselves now. This now time is crucial.”

But at the same time, we hear that we are already connected to our higher self and are already receiving guidance. So then, what is the difference between someone who is in the later stages of their awakening and ascension and someone who feels they’re just a beginner? What is it exactly that we are to do in order to advance, since it’s true that we are already connected to our higher self/soul? What is going to make a real difference?

It’s All About Confidence

In a nutshell, the difference has to do with 1. the level of confidence you have in your ability to distinguish your inner guidance from your wants and mental conditionings and 2. your level of confidence in the guidance itself, which helps you to promptly and consistently follow through with your guidance, even if it’s inconvenient for you to do so. Following your inner guidance is particularly challenging when your intuition is prompting you to follow through with something that’s outside your comfort zone (or that challenges your beliefs).

When you’re a beginner, or experiencing a personal crisis, or really long for something to happen, or just unsure of things, it’s not that easy to distinguish your inner guidance from your mental conditionings or personal desires and move forward on your path. I’ve been there and I know what that’s like. It can be a personal hell, and I’m not surprised that some people, even those who consider themselves light-workers, are procrastinating, waiting for something, even though they know they ought to be taking action now.

In the beginning stages of my process, when I wasn’t sure that I was correctly interpreting my guidance, I’ve had to resort to trying different things, to creative problem solving. I even asked the Universe to give me blatant signs. I figured that given that a lot was being asked of me, the least the Universe could do is provide me with real signs that I could not ignore. Well, the Universe promptly delivered. I shared several of these “signs that I could not ignore” and how I asked for them in my memoir. (Which must have annoyed my first book editor to no end…because she crossed out all of that content with ink. So then I was forced to look for other editors that were not so closed-minded.)

And Confidence Comes from Creating Results

You start from where you are, and you take baby steps. And when you follow through with your guidance and something amazing happens as a result, you learn to have even more confidence in yourself the next time. This is the gist of it.

Here’s an example that’s short, sweet and simple to understand. About two and a half years ago, I was hiking in the Los Gatos foothills when all of a sudden I received guidance to call an acquaintance. I had promised to help with a project, and I wanted to let him know I could be counted on.

I realized I didn’t have his number in my cell phone contact list, but as I was hiking up the hill, I remembered I had called him recently. So I looked through my call history for a (650) area code number and dialed the first (650) number I came across.

An unfamiliar man’s voice answered, “This is KZSU and you’re the winner. “Can you hold?”

“Yes, I can hold,” I said, blown away, realizing I had just “by accident” called the radio station where my friend hosted a weekly radio show, wondering if the current host was going to ask me questions I couldn’t answer, or how I was going to explain that I wasn’t listening to this guy’s show at the moment.

Well, it turns out I won a pair of tickets to the Monterey Jazz Festival (and he did not ask me any questions I couldn’t answer). Even though I had been very confident in my ability to discern and follow through with my guidance by then, this amazing result amplified my confidence even more. (It’s nice to receive such positive feedback from the Universe.)

Notice that I did not hesitate to follow through with my guidance. Even though I knew I didn’t have my friend’s number, I looked for another way to call him. Notice also that there was a very small “window of opportunity” for getting this particular result. If you wait too long to follow through with your intuition, your window of opportunity will pass you by. This window also holds true for your ability to experience the Great Shift in consciousness occurring now on this planet.

We often learn by example. Some people don’t know that certain things are possible…until they learn about it from others (the “copy-cat” approach). In my next blog post, I will share what happened to a friend of mine within a month of just reading my memoir.

I have shared the most important channeled messages I received from the Counsel of Light (channeled through medium and spiritual teacher Flo Aeveia Magdalena) in my memoir. I have also shown how I took the often esoteric and abstract messages and turned them into practical advice and guidance, including how the guidance affected my own life.

I have received a total of about 12 hour-long channeled messages starting around March 2001 and ending in the summer of 2005, roughly about 3 messages a year. By mid-2005, I felt had gotten what they had been trying to teach me. I felt comfortable that I had gotten the “ball rolling,” and they assured me that I just needed to continue the path/process I was already on. Well, no sooner had I felt that I understood where they were coming from, they were gone. What I mean is that around that time, Flo decided she was going to pursue some new projects, including channeling “The Nameless Ones” (i.e. the “Elohim”) for a larger group of people, and didn’t have time to give me personal attention anymore.

Although not being able to communicate with the Counsel of Light through Flo scared me a bit, I knew that I had managed to get the process rolling, so I didn’t complain. I knew the Counsel of Light were my guides, and even if I didn’t hear their words audibly through Flo’s voice, they were still around me and guiding me and I was getting their guidance through my intuition and hunches.

Well about a year or so ago, I felt something was different, again. I felt as if they weren’t around me as much as they used to be. And I wondered about it. I mean, I knew I was following my inner guidance, I knew I was doing okay. Yet I didn’t feel they were as active in my life as before.

Well finally about a month and a half ago I decided to ask a spiritual adviser named Pamela Leach. I have called Pamela a few times in the past couple of years for guidance on how to best deal with certain relationships and how to help my loved ones with some challenges they were experiencing. I asked Pamela, “Is the Counsel of Light still around me? Are they still my guides?”

Pamela replied that I have twelve guides and that they have indeed pulled back a little, but that they are still available whenever I ask. Pamela said, “They’re saying that they’re your BFFs, they’re saying that your higher self is connected to Source, your guidance is from a higher source, you have direct connection to source. You don’t need them as an intermediary anymore. You’re beyond the need for an intermediary. They’re still there, but you’re relying on source. They are reassuring me that they are reassuring you that they never left. That’s where you came from. They’re your companions, friends and supporters. They’re not your teachers anymore. You don’t need them as your teachers anymore.”

Pamela went on, “You are powerful. And there’s something waiting to be birthed. There isn’t even a blueprint for it yet. This is your graduation from white light to golden light. Stay grounded. It’s in the embryonic stage.”

So if you are at a point where you’re comfortable following your inner guidance, you’ll find that you don’t need that confirmation from the outside anymore. And if you’re further along, if you feel that your guides may have pulled back a little, it’s not because they’re not around you anymore. It’s that they’ve taken you as far as they can take you. You are connected to Source; you have a direct connection to Source. So don’t doubt yourself, when you get a hunch to take some action, don’t doubt yourself. Just follow your inner guidance moment to moment.

This confirms my understanding that we are to have a direct connection to Source, that cultivating a direct connection to source is what the Ascension Process is all about, and that a direct connection to Source is the result of reconnecting to and integrating with your higher self.

Christine

P.S. If you’re interested in speaking with Pam, please google: Pamela Leach spiritual adviser or call 616-642-0308. She is also more affordable than most, and I recommend her wholeheartedly.

I have tried several kinds of meditations over the years, including some that claim to help you access your higher self. If you’re happy with what your meditation practice does for you with regard to reconnecting and cultivating a real, palpable relationship with your higher self, don’t read this post. Go call a friend, or do something else instead. But if you’re frustrated because your relationship with your higher self isn’t where you want it to be and you’d like to know what kind of meditations are most effective for accessing your higher self, please read on…

Okay, let’s begin with some basics first. I have learned that to access your higher self, it’s not how you sit or how you breathe that’s important. And it’s not whether you have the right mantra. In fact, I have found that mantras actually distract and deter from this particular goal.

What’s important is whether your meditation connects you to that “higher self” aspect of you in as accurate a way as possible and whether you integrate that part of you into your life through your daily actions. It may not always be simple to enter that higher state of consciousness, but with a little bit of practice (and the support of professionals from WiccaAcademy.com or others), you may be able to get closer to achieving that mindfulness.

I will try to explain what I mean by “as accurate as possible,” first in general terms. I have found that for best results to happen in any area of life–doesn’t matter whether it’s cake baking or engineering or fixing cars–it helps to describe the situation as accurately as possible. What I mean is that you will get better results when you are right on target with your understanding of the situation, rather than just being in the ball park. I don’t think many people will argue with me on this point. (Later in this post I will explain why this also holds true for meditation.)

People may also be interested in spirituality and spiritual awakening. And truthfully, it has nothing to do with prayers. By attaining the spiritual awakening, you can feel closer to the universe and manifest a better understanding of your surroundings. It can also help to get in tune with you and your loved ones’ feelings. There are different Stages Of Spiritual Awakening, six to be precise. You can do more research about this, if it is something that interests you.

Anyway, I am writing about meditation and mindfulness because I recently came across a meditation for accessing the higher self that I understood (and intuitively knew) wouldn’t be all that helpful. The not-so-helpful meditation goes like this: You are to imagine that your higher self is standing (or sitting) in front of you and you are connecting to it through your open palms that are out in front of you. You imagine your higher self mirroring you, palms touching, while affirming that your new “best friend” will give you the highest of guidance. You are asked to “breathe through your hands.”

The problem with this meditation is that your higher self is not outside of you, and it never really was. I will explain why it’s important that the meditation you choose reflect reality as accurately as possible. The following are three points I discovered when I was seeking a meditation that would reconnect me to my higher self as quickly and as effectively as possible:

  1. About 10 years ago, the Counsel of Light gave me a meditation that they described as a “shot in the arm” for connecting with your higher self. (This meditation was channeled for me through medium Flo Aeveia Magdalena.) In this meditation, the Counsel of Light asked me to place my left hand on my heart and my right hand on my “soul seed”–which is in the center of the body between the rib cage. They said that the heart in my meditation represented my current life (my current incarnation) and the soul seed represented my soul, my higher self (my infinite life). During the meditation they had me imagine that I was running a figure 8 (the infinity sign) around my hands (i.e. a circle around the left hand, and then a circle around the right hand, over and over again in a figure 8 ) so that what appeared to be happening is that my current life was integrating with my higher self right under my hands.
  2. After I got into this meditation practice, I noticed that this area of my body would get all warm and tingly just before I’d be given important guidance. I would get this warm, intense glow in the center of my chest close to my heart (where the Counsel of Light said my “soul seed” was) even when I wasn’t paying any particular attention to this area. What I mean is that I’d be driving my car, for example, on some mundane errand, when all of a sudden I would experience this intense hottening up of the center of my chest. I would feel this warm, peaceful, happy glow in my center even when my life was in chaos and I was feeling scared, sad, and disconnected from loved ones. Then a moment or so after I acknowledged this warm feeling, I noticed that I would get a new insight, or some sort of inner guidance–guidance that actually helped me resolve specific problems I had in my life at the time. The warm, intense feeling definitely got my attention. It helped me at a time when I wasn’t yet confident with my ability to correctly distinguish my true inner guidance from my mental conditionings or imaginations. It also helped me to recognize which inner guidance was extremely important for me to follow. (And if your higher self gave you guidance that was deemed very important for you to follow, wouldn’t it make sense that at the same time, you’d be given a sign that you couldn’t ignore?) After all, the Divine Plan works extremely well!
  3. Placing your hands on your body as I described above while lying down actually helps to calm you, to reconnect you to your true self. (Try it for a while and see for yourself.) This kind of meditation also affirms (and helps your mind get) that your power is within you, not outside of you, and that the source of your power is your direct connection to Source (to God)–which I believe will be extremely important and useful in the near future.

I have written in detail about how to do this meditation in both my eBook and my memoir. Everything you need to succeed in this meditation is shared in detail. Furthermore, in my memoir I share several instances of how I was driving, or walking, or even cleaning the house, began to feel the familiar welling up of warm energy in my soul seed area, and then the words and the guidance that came to me not long afterwards. I also share how the guidance I received helped me solve specific problems I had in my life at the time.

Besides the meditation shared above, I also like meditations where you imagine yourself walking down a spiral staircase, and with each slow step you go deeper and deeper into yourself. This meditation is very calming and helps you learn to “drop in” to yourself quickly.

There is no doubt in my mind that reconnecting to and integrating with your higher self is the source of your spiritual awakening. It’s what this “Great Shift” in consciousness is all about. Just make sure to use a meditation that connects you to your higher self as quickly and as effectively as possible.

Welcome to my blog!

Near the end of last year it became apparent to me that I needed to expand how I was going to share my understanding of the Great Shift, the Higher Self and the Divine Plan so that my readers could benefit from my writings on a greater level. As you may know, I have been publishing my articles through ezinearticles.com since 2008 and have over 142 articles archived there.

Going through ezinearticles.com worked for me for some time, but lately I found I wasn’t able to tolerate its limitations any longer. For example, in my articles I was not allowed to share longer excerpts of materials I published previously (my previous articles, or my books). I could not share useful content created by other writers and teachers, except for short excerpts. Three to five sentences was the limit. Also, I could not use certain language such as “B.S.,” and reader interaction was limited.

With a blog, I can now link to other blogs that I find useful. You can read these other posts–if you so choose. You can interact by commenting on my posts. You can learn from others–by reading other reader’s comments. You can also benefit when another reader shares their experiences.

So I will jump right in and begin with my next post…on the topic of meditations for accessing one’s higher self.
